International Women’s Day (IWD) in the Illawarra

This event includes a keynote address by The Hon Jenny Macklin MP; a Panel Discussion with 7 diverse Illawarra women of ages 16 to mid-80s, and Illawarra High School Female Student's Best Essay Presentations on the theme, "Gaining the Unexpected". The event is being held at the Nan Tien Temple’s Auditorium in Berkeley. The Panel of Illawarra women leaders includes Melanie Jones, Vice-President and Event Co-ordinator for the University of Wollongong’s Debating Society; Elinor Stephenson, School Captain at Smith’s Hill High School, Wollongong; Rebecca Schmidt, a StrokeSafe Ambassador for the Stroke Foundation Australia; Member for Cunningham, Sharon Bird MP; Wodi Wodi Elder Aunty Joyce Donovan; and Co-ordinator of the Illawarra OWN Wellness Centre, Barbara Malcolm.
